Rich Text Formatting in Google Classroom
What is it?
First of all, what the heck is rich text formatting? It’s a fancy way of saying you can make text look different by formatting it so it's easier for the reader to understand visually.
What does it do?
Google recently added rich text formatting options to Google Classroom where you can make text bold, italic, underlined, and create a bulleted list. This is great feature addition to Classroom as it will allow you to better communicate instructions by emphasizing text and formatting it, so it is easy to read.
Where do I find it?
You will find your rich text formatting options below text boxes you type in like classroom stream announcements or directions for classwork assignments.
You will also notice a T with a slash through it. That is the remove formatting button that you can use to do just that, remove the formatting but it won’t delete the words.
Use Keyboard Commands
And Bonus! Did you know you can use keyboard commands in Google Classroom too!? So just like you use in other applications, you can use those keyboard commands to quickly format selected text!
